What are Jingas? Jinga is from ginga a Brazilian Portuguese word meaning, loosely,
an art of moving that is personal and individual; your rhythm, your style;
something creative, fluid, exuberant and graceful. We aim to capture this vibrancy and dynamism
of Brazilian culture in an aspiring and empowering brand that has positive
social and environmental outcomes combating poverty and measurably reducing
negative environmental impact in Brazil.
Jinga Shoes are 100% made in Brazil. Their characteristic lightness and
flexibility makes them much loved for dance, capoeira and activities requiring
swiftness and agility, and of course of course every day wear with a freer,
more comfortable and more fun feel.
What's New for 2011? Spring 2011 marks a milestone in the history of Jinga Shoes: we’ve gone back tothe beginning and recreated the classic Jinga to be everything that our customers know andlove – yet better in almost every way.So what’s new? See below:
Better Fit: ‘Lasts’ are the foot shaped models around which the different shoe sizes aremade. We’ve sculpted two brand new sets of last for men and for women, to better reflect the natural difference in shape of men’s and women’s feet and give enhanced comfort and support to the wearer.
Improved Sole: We have created a new sole design giving improved traction and agility combined with a graceful, slimline design.
Finding the perfect balance between lightness and durability: the main focus of our redevelopment has led to key structural adjustments, including a reworking of the placement of the lateral design to best protect and deflect from key stress points, and our new sole curves upwards at the edges to protect the lightweight fabric at the base of theshoe.
Superior Materials: All materials have been upgraded, and Jingas are now 100% Made In Brazil, down to the smallest components. The new sole is constructed from TPU, a fully recyclable material that gives excellent wear, grease and temperature resistance. The Upper fabrics are all sourced from Brazilian companies with commitments to improving environmental performance.
Better for Everyone – Environmental Credentials: Our new manufacturing facility offers more than excellent technical facilities: it has been awarded the ‘Green Seal’ by the Brazilian Technological Institute for Leather Shoes and Accessories in recognition of outstanding practice in recycling, reducing environmental impact and ensuring a high standard ofworking conditions.
